Spiritually?

I had an encounter of the God-kind at seventeen on the island of Mykonos, Greece, during my senior trip.  My journey has been somewhat circuitous ... I learned, much later than I should have, that there is a difference between man's religion and the Body of Christ, between walking by the Spirit and living by one's natural life, of what it means to die to self and live a life of the cross, and how easy it is to let the world bring compromise and lukewarmness into what should be a passionate romance with God ... He truly is worthy of our time, resources, energy, and passions AND all glory should go to Him and Him alone. Not I but Christ ....

Professionally?
I could say that I am a medical doctor and leave it at that, but the truth is that I have only been one since 2010 :) and that is the longest I have ever spent in one profession (well, not counting being a professional student :)).  I love to create, build and optimize things :) ... so I am currently leaving healthcare delivery behind and going in another direction ... don't worry, it will all work out - it always does :) [P.S - you can read about it on the Jobs Page :)] 

Physically?
So far the vehicle is running smooth and all my biochemistry is normal :)  I enjoy swimming, jogging, riding my fat bike, SCUBA diving, boating, golfing, weight training, and deep-sea fishing.  My family line is pretty good about getting us to our mid-90’s, so I have some life left in me :)  I eat healthy and so can splurge whenever I want - nothing legal here ...

Emotionally?

I should let my friends write this :)  I am pretty eclectic, but not in a weird way; at least I don't think so :).  I was raised a country boy, by a very Germanic father and altruistic mother (polars).  I had a lot of freedom being the youngest, as I think by child number 4 my folks were tired of raising kids :) - so I kind of raised myself :)

As you can see, I made it through alive, but I was definitely aided by the God of mercy!!  I laugh a lot, am playful at heart, have a pretty developed mind, and am curious, spontaneous, have a large dose of wanderlust, and, above all, love God.  I can fix almost anything, I enjoy the process of design and construction and still might build a few more houses (well, I design them and contract out the building part :)) ...  I don’t collect anything (did that when I was little and now like to be a minimalist) ... I don’t have animals, as I like spontaneity too much = just waking up and getting on a plane/train/boat/trail.  I am pretty organized but don’t mind a little messiness  :)  I iron, cook, clean - as I have a domestic side from being a single parent most of my life.  I can lay for hours on a beach and not be bothered by the quietness or remoteness (I like deserted islands :)).  I fit into about any culture and feel comfortable in a tux or barefoot, in the city or wilderness, though if I hike for a few days, I like to end up at the Hyatt :)
